Djon Salmon with Sautéed Cabbage

Baked salmon is super simple to make as is sautéed cabbage. This healthy recipe is easy to prepare and only takes 20 minutes to bake. Wild caught salmon is a good source of healthy fats which are essential for hormone production, brain, heart and colon health. Cabbage is a fabulous source of fibre, which helps to keep the colon clean, supports blood sugar and lowers cholesterol.

Ingredients

2 tsp Djon Mustard ( or make your own)
2 fillets of wild caught salmon
1 tsp ground ginger (or 1 tbsp fresh)
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp Himalayan salt
Cracked black pepper to taste

Method

  • Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees.
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Spread Djon mustard over salmon.
  • Spread garlic and ginger over salmon.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper over salmon.
  • Bake in oven for 15-20minutes. Time will depend on size of fillet.
  • Note: I like to cover the top of my salmon with baking paper.

 

Cabbage Bean Salad

Ingredients

1/2 head white cabbage, shredded
1 brown onion, sliced finely
10-15 long green beans, chopped in half
3 cherry tomatoes
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ginger (fresh or dried)
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tsp djon mustard
2 tsp himalayan salt
2 tsp cracked black pepper
1-2 tbsp ghee or grass fed butter

Method

  • Saute spices; ginger, garlic, turmeric and onion in a large frying pan on high heat until onions soften.
  • Add ghee or grass fed butter. Mix through.
  • Turn down to medium heat and add remainder of vegetables. Cook covered for 6-8 minutes.
  • Add djon mustard, salt and pepper and toss through. Cook a further 2 minutes.
  • Serve with salmon and enjoy.
